Fay Archive , a new project by Fay presented at Milano Moda Uomo and launched last June 2019, looks at the entire creative and cultural heritage of the brand, dressing its appeal with the charm of the 80s. A line of
outerwear that dives back into the attitude of considering the tenacity of workwear combined with a DNA that has always been linked to outdoor sportiness.

Fay became an iconic brand in the second half of the 80s, when thanks to an intuition, Diego and Andrea Della Valle created a
collection of outerwear that immediately became a cult. The idea was an immediate hit: a
jacket inspired by the uniforms of the American firefighters of Maine, which was therefore resistant but which combined the charm of fashion with that workwear trend that sublimates garments dedicated to specific targets of the working class, relaunching them as essential pieces for everyday life. The creative intervention of Alessandro Squarzi, who was entrusted with the Fay Archive capsule collection, was decisive: an entrepreneur expert in men's style, always with a passion for fashion and numerous creative dreams in the drawer, crowns this experience with the great return of the outerwear that originated from the firefighters' uniform. Collector of vintage garments, Alessandro Squarzi maintains the iconic detail of the four-hooks closure, the American-style cotton canvas, rediscovering the leather sleeve edge and the wide-rib velvet collar that was so popular in the second half of the 80s. An edition that has its roots deep in the DNA of the origins, the style of this double collection is designed to remain unchanged despite the increasingly rapid fading of trends, focusing on the versatility of the garment and maximum adaptability to the intense temperature changes of the season.

"We started from the brand and our history to reach the standing we deserve on a global level too", explained Sergio Azzolari, CEO of Fay and Hogan. The brand's market is looking abroad and in particular at China with great expectations of linking up with important personalities in the Asian market, trying to create desirability starting from the original impulse that gave birth to Fay. A taste for the contemporary that maintains the strong tradition from which the creatives draw in giving birth to a project that covers the entire seasonal year. From the cotton canvas jacket that can also be used when the weather gets colder, thanks to the applied but reversible internal lining in teddy bear fleece, to then present down parkas and padded trench coats, which do not forget contrasting fleece interiors. For spring summer, the homage to American firefighters is striking: bomber jackets, safari jackets and outerwear show silkscreen prints dedicated to the famous firefighter crests, exalting the workforce that gives a touch of heroism even to the daily life of a determined, strong and generous man. Prominent materials, selvedge denim with contrasting thread, or denim that does not have a cut of fabric, making it today, thanks to the advent of industrial processing, an extremely rare and valuable piece. The cotton has a monochrome bath, sometimes embellished with a faded brush stroke.
