Elisabetta Franchi Fall/Winter 2016 Fashion Show Milan Fashion Week
The Elisabetta Franchi Fall/Winter 2016 Fashion Show had as its main theme the Circus in its colors and characteristics. The entrepreneur and stylist from Bologna, president of the Betty Blu company, wanted to denounce the exploitation and sacrifice of animals that work in circus facilities. The strong and at the same time tender image that appeared on the T - Shirts during the fashion show is that of a lion behind bars with eyes and mouth made up like a clown .
"I recreated the prints with the furs of animals, from giraffes to pythons, to demonstrate that you can live and create fashion without killing animals", declared Elisabetta , extraordinary member of LAV , the Anti-Vivisection League, who has always been committed to using vegan leather and fur for her looks, without rabbit and angora.
Circus inspiration has led the designer to create a clothing line made of stripes with strong chromatic contrasts , lion tamer jackets, evening dresses covered in sequins, fringes, strong patterns and lots of transparencies. Light blue and orange are the predominant colors, the same ones that usually characterize the stage looks of circus artists. The must- have item of the entire Elisabetta Franchi collection is the tamer jacket, characterized by a double row of golden buttons, as well as decorated shoulder pads embellished with long fringes .
